CCRs - Learning and Planning (#39)

Helloo Guys! Welcome back! I hoped you guys liked the film opening, and now it is time to move into the CCRs. Today in class, we watched some high scoring CCRs to show us what we are expected to do, and to give us examples/ideas of what to do for our CCRs. To start, here are the four questions we need to answer:

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues?

  2. How does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

  3. How did your production skills develop throughout the project?

  4. How did you integrate technologies — software, hardware, and online — in this project?

These are the questions that I need to answer in either two, five minute videos or four, two and a half minute videos. I’m not sure what I want to do, especially that this is something new to me. I think I want to do at least three videos. The only problem is, what creative ideas can I do?

For question one – How does your product use or challenge conventions, and how does it represent social groups or issues? – Since I challenge the normal conventions of the horror genre by not using lowkey lighting, but also using the convention of a dark figure following the girl, Alana. This is something I can say for question one in my CCRs.

For question two – How  does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text? – Since my film isn’t top tier, I would leave it on YouTube as a short film, while also advertising it on social media stories and small posts to get it out there. Another way would be to put it on small story channels on YouTube.

For question three -- How did your production skills develop throughout the project? -- In this question I would show an updated skills audit and talk about my experiences. Additionally, I would explain how these experiences helped me.

For question four -- How did you integrate technologies — software, hardware, and online — in this project? -- I would talk about my editing process and what I used to edit, what I used to film, and more. I would explain how this helped me during my filming two minute film opening, The Assignment.

So I think this would be a great start for what I can for my CCRs. The next thing it is to think about how to make these videos in a creative way while still answering them. Can't wait!
